Today I came across video where Steve Job gave a speech in front of  college graduates and Stanford University.

He simply tell 3 stories from his life

The first story is about connecting the dots.

The second story is about love and loss.

The third story is about death.

IF nothing else please spend 14 minutes to watch  this video and I am not afraid to say that this may change your life

Steve never graduated from college and he shared those stories to bring several important and unforgettable points

You’ve got to find what you love. And it is as as true for work as it is for you lovers. Your work is going to feel the large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is a great work and the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking and don’t settle.  As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.

Steve Jobs

Here is the video:

You’ve got to find what you love

Here is the link to full text of his speech: http://news-service.stanford.edu/news/2005/june15/jobs-061505.html

Let me know what you think. Do you find what you love? If not what stops you?

I think the first part of this speech is great, where he talks about doing what you love. I use Macs and have been following his story for a long time.

I also think it is not surprising he is very ill, when he has been imagining he might die the next day, for so long. I think it is a sickening, stupid thing to do - I wrote a post about this speech myself, without saying whose speech it was. I think it is a tragedy that people think like this - they are killing themselves off. Don’t you know about the power of thought?

Thanks for sharing Robin,

I totally agree with you on that side of thinking. Every thought has power and energy.

My idea was to bring up the point on doing something you love. He mentioned multiple times in his career that life is short and that it is better to live it to the fullest. I’ve done a lot of things I didn’t like and his message resonated with me really well. Take the best and leave the rest as someone said.

Thanks for sharing Robin. I familiar with your blog.

Sorry Peter for carrying on! - sometimes I just get too emotional.

I just watched the video - I haven’t seen it before, only read it - he IS good. The connect the dots stuff is great - and his next story, too. It’s funny to see him without his black turtle-neck!

Cheers - Robin

Thanks for Sharing Robin

I learned to watch what successful people do, no matter of their personalities

For example I don’t like Donald Trump, but still read his books, because he knows something I don’t :)

Hi Peter

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” - Steve Job.
Thank you for this.
