There are so many things to do in life, so many places to visit, so much to accomplish. There is load of information coming our way from multiple sources. Are your head spinning already?
Unfortunately, there is so much time in a day. What we can do to capitalize on various opportunities that promise to bring desired outcome? There are must be some effective strategies so we can spend our time wisely, have more free time and at the same time reach our desired results.
Information overload has been a big issue for me and still is. It is so easy to jump into new thing, then jump into another new thing and do it again and again…
Let’s look at specific example. Could you remember time when you wake up in the morning, check your email and the next thing you know, 2 life hours gone somewhere. Sounds familiar?
One of the biggest insights that help me manage information that coming my way and to use in efficient and effective manner can be described as Concept of Leverages. What is leverage? Simply put, leverage is a power to act effectively.
I discovered that in life in order to get desired outcome we need to be aware of several Leverage Points that we can take advantage of, that will bring you desired outcome fast and with highest probability success. After Learning and applying various concepts I can define several most important leverage points to take advantage of:
Leverage Point N1 - Thought
Did you notice that when you jump into doing something fast without thinking about it first, it is possible to spend significant amount of time doing it, to later realized that it can be done in much more effective and efficient way.
If you put thought first to whatever that you are doing, action will be just natural extension of thought and will not take that much time, because process already been created by you in your mind. Now you just have to follow what I called Thought Blueprint and take action on it. It much easier to take actions on something that already clearly defined by you in your mind.
Thought is one of the highest if not the highest leverage points I discovered. Understanding this one point will get you farther ahead of most people who try to do things unconsciously without giving it a thought first.
Leverage Point N2 - Clarity is Power
Knowing what You want and get clear about it will give you ability to focus and channel your energy in a direction that you choose to travel.
If you one of those people who can learn and absorb everything that comes your way, good for you. At the same time it might cause the issue of knowing many things but not to be good at anything.
It is actually issue I use to face on a daily basis, and still do. I discovered that having right tools and mindset allowed me to channel my energy in much more efficient and effective way.
There is no possible way to know everything. The more you learn the more you realize how little you know. There is must be a way to concentrate and focus on processing only information that will be useful for you and people around you.
You can become clear and channel your energy, but which direction to aim?
There are countless things you can become clear on, but the most effective and efficient way I found is to Knowing Your Strength and capitalizing on It. This way you will be able to filter only the information that will get you to your desired outcome by channeling your energy in the direction of something that you are the best at.
Leverage Point N3 - Playing To Your Strength
Do you know what you are good at?
On of the reasons most people don’t know their talents is simply because people don’t ask themselves this powerful question. There is no surprise why most people jumping into one thing to another and can’t concentrate and focus to become the best at what they do.
I couldn’t understand why I use to be so miserable on a daily basis. After I dig deeper into this subject, took several personality assessments and read countless books, I realized that I have one fundamental mistake in my thinking that lead to various issues throughout different stages of my life.
Most of the time I was concentrating on my weaknesses and was trying to improve them religiously. At the end of the day, this concept wasn’t working for me the way I thought it would.
I realized that it would be much better and more productive to discover my true talents, instead of dwelling on my weaknesses.
You can’t be everything for everyone, it is just not the way it works.
You can be excellent at psychology and understanding people, but if work hard and try to be a computer programmer, it might be very hard to push yourself against your natural talents. There are load of information regarding personality types and multiple brain research studies being done on that subject. Not everyone in total agreement on this approach.
I love to do research on this subject and will be more then welcome to share my insights and step by step practical approaches , so you can learn more about yourself and capitalize on that knowledge. Discovering your real talents it is just a beginning and there is things need to be done to take advantage of knowledge about yourself and others.
For now I am sure that you realized how important it is to discover who you really are and capitalize on that knowledge to live more productive, fulfilled and happy life.
In my next post I will cover the subject of Talent and specific steps on what you can do to do discover it and capitalize on that knowledge.
